A light on the dashboard is the car telling you something. The colour tells you how urgent it is, and the symbol tells you where to look.
Red and amber
- Red means stop safely and do not keep driving to see what happens.
- Amber means the car needs looking at soon, even if it feels fine.
- Green and blue are usually information, not faults.

What we do
We come to the car and work out what the light is pointing at, instead of clearing it and hoping. Then we tell you what the problem is, what the fix involves and whether it is safe to drive in the meantime. You decide what happens next, and the price is agreed first.
Before you call
- Note which light it is, and its colour
- Note when it came on: a cold start, braking, going uphill
- Take a photo of the dashboard if you can
One thing we will not do
Switch a light off and call it fixed. If the cause is still there, the light will come back, and the problem will be bigger.
Common questions
Is it safe to keep driving?
A red light means stop safely. Amber means get it looked at soon.
Can you just reset it?
We find the cause first. Resetting without fixing hides the problem.
What should I tell you?
The light, its colour and when it came on.
