Before you pay for a test you might fail, have someone look the car over where it is parked. We come to your home or workplace, go through the points that commonly cause a fail, and tell you what we find while you still have time to fix it.

What we look at in a pre-NCT check

  • Lights, front and rear, including brake lights and indicators
  • Tyres: tread depth and condition
  • Brakes: how they feel, and any warning lights
  • Windscreen, wipers and washers
  • Horn, seat belts and mirrors
  • Number plates

What you get

A plain account of what we found, what is likely to cause a fail, and what each fix would involve. The price of any work is agreed with you before we start. You decide what to do before you book the test.

What it is not

A pre-NCT check is not the NCT, and nobody can promise a pass. We look at the kinds of things the test looks at, so there are fewer surprises on the day.
