Rear brake replacement at home in Dublin: new disc on the hub, wheel off, car on a jack in the driveway

Worn brakes do not need a trip to a garage and a day without the car. We come to your driveway or your workplace, look at the discs and pads, tell you what they need, and replace them where the car is parked.

A real brake job, before and after

These photos are from one job in Dublin: a family SUV with a worn, rusted rear disc. The car stayed on the customer’s driveway on a jack while the old disc and pads came off and the new ones went on.

Signs your brakes need looking at

  • A grinding or scraping noise when you brake
  • A squeal that does not go away after the first few stops
  • The car pulls to one side under braking
  • A vibration through the pedal or the steering wheel
  • The pedal feels soft or goes further down than it used to
  • A brake warning light on the dashboard

If the pedal goes to the floor or the brakes stop working properly, do not drive the car. Call us and tell us where it is.

When it needs a workshop

Some brake faults need a lift or a workshop. If that is the case we say so before we start, and explain your options.

Common questions

Can you replace brakes on my driveway?

Usually, yes. We need the car on firm, level ground with room to work around the wheel.

Will I know the price first?

Yes. The booked call-out is €180 with the diagnostic check included, and the parts and labour are agreed before we fit anything.

Is it safe to drive with noisy brakes?

A noise is a warning. If the pedal feels wrong or the car pulls, do not drive it. Call and we come to the car.
