Can you check my car before the NCT at my home?
Yes. We come to you, go over the points that commonly cause a fail and tell you what to fix before you book the test.
Is it worth inspecting a used car before I buy?
Usually. A short viewing hides a lot. An inspection gives you a written list of what is fine and what is not, which is also useful when you talk about the price.
I put the wrong fuel in. What do I do?
Leave the engine off, and keep the ignition off as well. Ring us with the car and what went in, and we will explain the next step.
Will I know the price before you start?
Yes. A booked call-out is €180 and includes the diagnostic check. After that we agree the price of the job with you before any work starts.
Can you replace brakes at my home?
Yes. Worn discs and pads can usually be replaced on your driveway or at your workplace. We look at them first and agree the price before we fit anything.
Where do you work?
Across Dublin. We come to your home, your workplace or wherever the car is parked. Tell us the area when you call.
Do I need to be there while you work?
For a check or an inspection it helps, because we can show you what we find. For some jobs the car only needs to be accessible. We agree this when you book.
Do you work in the rain?
Many jobs can be done outside, but some are better under cover. If the weather is a problem we will say so before we set off.
Can you fix any problem at the roadside?
Not always. If a repair needs a workshop, we tell you that clearly and explain the options rather than starting something we cannot finish.
My car will not start. Is it the battery?
It often is, but starters, fuel and other faults give the same symptom. We find the cause and then tell you what the fix involves.
What should I have ready when I call?
The make and model, the registration, where the car is and what happened. A photo of the dashboard helps if a light is on.
What hours do you work?
We are open 24 hours. A call-out booked in advance is €180. If you need us urgently, an emergency call-out is €250 and we aim to be with you within an hour.
What does the emergency call-out cover?
We aim to be with you within an hour, at any time of day. It costs €250 and includes the diagnostic check. Parts and any repair are agreed with you first.
Do you tow cars?
No. If your car has to be moved, a recovery company is the right call. We can tell you what we found so you can pass it on.
